Pattaya Police and a unit of The Sawangboribul Rescue Foundation responded quickly to reports of a shooting incident in Soi 17 South Pattaya.
At the scene they found a young man Khun Phattakarn aged 19 who had been seriously wounded with one bullet lodged in his rear end. He was transported immediately to Banglamung Hospital for emergency treatment.
A friend of the wounded guy Khun Saranyu aged 21 who also works with the victim at a Pattaya Cabaret Show said that they were returning home after visiting a pub at Bali Hai in South Pattaya when they were followed by a gang of youths on motorcycles.
As they were driving along soi 17 one of the gang opened fire and wounded his friend before fleeing on their motorcycles.
Police are continuing their investigations and checking CCTV cameras in the area in the hope that they can track down the gun toting gangsters.
