The rescue vehicles that speed around Pattaya with lights flashing and sirens blaring are usually run by charitable organizations. They are funded by public donations and like The largest organization in the area The Sawang Boriboon Foundation they provide a host of charitable works in the community as well as the accident and rescue services that we are familiar with.
Local residents contacted the The Sawang Boriboon Foundation to inform them that an unknown out of town organization were in there area asking locals for donations to fund their scholorship programmes.
Units of the The Sawang Boriboon Foundation rushed to the scene - it is not known if they used full lights and sirens to find out who was poaching on their turf.
At thee scene they found a number of vehicles from The Sawang Bunyarit Foundation and a group of the foundation staff dressed in uniforms bearing the foundations insignia.
Some of the group tried to make a rapid exit and just a few women volunteers hung around to take questions from the miffed The Sawang Boriboon Foundation volunteers.
The foundation encroaching was actually from Bangkok. These foundations have every right to go wherever they like in Thailand to elicit funds but it is usually customary to inform the local foundations of their intentions and seek permission before entering their territory.
