Cambodian Counterfeit Gang Apprehended on Pattaya Beach

Pattaya Police launched a major operation this week to bring to justice an international gang suspected of breaking transnational intellectual copyright infringement regulations by duping foreign tourists into buying luxury goods when they were actually cheap fakes.

The police had little time to carry out this important task as lunch time was fast approacing so out they went in force and luckily they spotted some members of this International gang not too far away on the beach opposite the entrance to Soi 10.

The police set up serveillance and stalked the sellers. They didn't have to wait long. They observed two suspicious strangers attempting to sell sun glasses to a group of tourists.

The police leapt into action and arrested two of the gang members and confiscated their stash of counterfeit goods as evidence. The two arrested turned out to be Cambodian nationals Mr. Chin aged 28 and Mr. Salai aged 48.

The Cambodians confessed to their heinous crimes blaming Thais who forced them to buy the sun glasses and they hadto sell them on to tourists to regain their costs.

After a preliminary investigation The police charged them with entering the Kingdom of Thailand without permission. And distribution of pirated goods for sale.

Yes the police managed to get back to the station before lunch break was over and could be seen munching away on a plate of rice sporting rather nice looking Rae Bans.
