Khao Khiaw Open Zoo Pattaya Water Spraying

Management at the Khao Khiaw Open Zoo near Pattaya have installed water sprinklers at the zoo. The sprinklers are not there to water the lawns but to direct jets of cooling water on some of the zoos prized exhibits that have been showing signs of stress due to the recent spell of hot weather.

Animals such as the ostriches and antelopes are amongst the species getting the VIP (Very Intense Precipitation) treatment. The director said that this is of course benefitial for the animals but is also a security measure to ensure safety for the thousands of tourists who pass through the gates of the zoo to experience the special hands on petting methods that the zoo employs that allows members of the public to get close up and personal with the zoos extensive range of exotic species.

Maybe another species of endangered species in Pattaya - Farang Tourists - could be the next to experience the soothing water spraying techniques with bars making available garden hoses and spray guns to cool off customers who get a bit hot under the collar. They could call it The Songkran Festival.
