British Iranian Man Burgled in North Pattaya

Pattaya Police were called in to investigate a burglary at an apartment complex in North Pattaya.

At the scene the Success Apartments at the North end of Pattaya Second Road they met a Mr. Mohammad Safai-Rad aged 60. Mr. Safai-Rad was born in Iran but now holds a British passport. His room had been ransacked with belongings scattered all over. The safe box had been wrenched from it's location and removed from the scene.

Mr. Safai-Rad said that the safe contained 5,000 Baht, 50 Chinese Yuan and 300 pounds in British pounds also travel and personal documents. Mr. Safai-Rad said that he had been out of the room for about an hour to go do some errands and returned back to find the door lock had been forced open.

Whoever broke into the room and stole the safe would have had to walk past security personnel at the Apartment complex and police have not ruled out that this could have been an inside job or carried out with the knowledge of apartment staff. Police are examining fingerprints they beleive belong to the intruder or intruders as well as CCTV footage from security cameras.

I do have another question linked to enquiries last  with an Iranian middle man purchasing tickets for other Iranian men travelling on stolen passports on the ill fated Malaysian flight to Bejing last week. Why does an Iranian man have a British passport and also Chinese Yuan. Something not right here.
