Na Jomtien Traffic Police Sergent Chatchai was unphased by a massive traffic jam on Sukhumvit Road in Na Jomtien.
He manually manned the traffic lights at the crossroads at the Huay Yai junction near the District Prosectors office and got the traffic moving again albeit at a snails pace.
The traffic jam stretched for 3-4 Km and lasted two hours in the middle of the afternoon from about 3pm till 5pm
Traffic can be heavy on this section of the Sukhumvit Highway especially at rush hours in the early morning and early evening however afternoon traffic gridlock is unheard of unless there has been a major accident.
The cause of this traffic jam - well the blame has been put firmly on parents who are getting a little weary of their little ones causing havoc at home during the school holidays loaded up their precious offspring for an afternoon out at local tourist attractions like Nong nooch Tropical Garden.
