Pattaya Police Colonel Supachai held a press conference at Pattaya Police Station to announce the arrest of a man who is suspected to have stolen several motorcycles and another man who was was also found to be in possession of class 1 narcotics when he was apprehended.
Khun Gitiyar aged 44 had reported the theft of his motorcycle from the car park at Tesco Lotus in South Pattaya. The bike was spotted soon after nearby being driven along Sukhumvit Road.
Police arrested Khun Tawatchai aged 19 who was driving the stolen bike and his passenger Khun Daeshar aged 22 and was caught with a small quantity of the class 1 drug Yaa Ice (Crystal Methamphetamine)
Khun Tawatchai admitted to stealing the bike and another three motorcycles recently by using the same method a sharp metal object to prize open the lock. He would sell the motorcycles for 2-3,000 Baht each to buy drugs.
Police are still investigating how many crimes he may be involved in and also what role his friend Khun Daeshar played in these thefts.
