Drive By Shooting Wounds Boy in Soi Batman Pattaya

Pattaya Police and a unit from The Sawang Boriboon Rescue Foundation were called to attend a shooting incident in South Pattaya with reports of a school boy wounded.

At the scene in Soi Batman at the Sukhumvit end of South Pattaya Road they found a 15 year old boy who had sustained a minor gunshot wound when a bullet had grazed his lower left leg.

Medics treated the boy at the scene and then transported him to Banglamung Hospital for further treatment.

Before going to hospital he told police that he was sat at the side of the road with a group of about six of his friends when a motorcycle drove by with two men on board. One of them drew a gun and fired at the group. He and his friends claimed that they did not recognise the men on the bike.

Police are sceptical as this area is well known for drug dealing and gang violence. Gunshots are not uncommon in this area. The boy was just unlucky this time that one stray shot got a bit nearer than the usual incompetent attempts.

The police are now examining CCTV cameras in the area in the off chance that they can recognise the assailants amongst the numerous images of undesirables that hang around the now derelict Batman Disco.
