The Pattaya Music Festival 2014 was deemed another great success for Pattaya unless you were trying to drive around the city during the period of the festivities.
By successful I mean profitable. Pattaya especially Beach road was thronged with tourists both Thai and foreigners all hungry all thirsty and all with money in their pockets to burn.
As well as the stages set up to host the big name bands there were hundreds of stalls selling everything from t-shirts, souvenirs, drinks and snacks. The stallholders pay a premium price for their pogs and for an event like this they can almost guarantee coming out a winner with huge profits.
There can be losers also. Khun Pawanrat aged 19 a food vendor thought she was lucky when she was approached by a Khun Payut, who is known to work as a Pattaya City Security Officer. He told the vendor how she could rent space at the Music Festival for 9,000 Baht per day.
