Brit Dies in Jetski Accident on Koh Larn Island Pattaya

2014 is sadly starting off the same as 2013 with another tragic marine accident claiming this time the life of a British man who sustained fatal injuries whilst riding a jetski off Koh Larn Island Pattaya.

The deceased was a Mr. Stephen David Campbell aged 38 from Blackpool, England known by his friends as Steve.

Mr. Campbell had been in Pattaya for only a few days and was staying at a hotel in North Pattaya. He and a group of friends had gone for a day out on Koh Larn Island. At Tawean Beach he rented a jetski and set off for some fun on the waves with his mate Mr. Mark Kear aged 38 riding pillion.

Mr. Campbell struck a submerjed anchor rope near the beach which rose up and inflicted what turned out to be a fatal wound to his neck

Rescue personell were quickly on scene and transported Mr. Campbell to Bali Hai pier where he was met by medics and a unit from the Sawang Boriboon Rescue Foundation. Unfortunately Mr. Campbell had lost a lot of blood and succumbed to his injuries.

His friend Mr. Kear and his girlfriend Miss Ganyarat made their way to Pattaya Police Station to make their statements and the body of Mr. Campbell was taken to hospital for a full post mortem to be carried out. As is the custom the British Embassy in Bangkok have been notifies of the death of one of it's nationals.
