Banglamung Police teamed up with a contingent of Royal Thai Army personnel to set up road checkpoints in the local Banglamung area. There was a simple but important aim to the operation - to identify and arrest drug users.
Manpower was split into two teams one team of Police officers, district officials and Army officers took up position with a traffic checkpoint in the middle of Soi Thai Udom which intersects with Soi Pho Thi Sarn. The second checkpoint was in the middle of Soi Nern Phlab Wan in front of Sawang Boriboon Wittaya school.
Suspicious looking teenagers were pulled over and summarily drug tested.
The checkpoint in Soi Nernplubwan came in first in the find a druggie competition and netted 27 teenagers who tested positive for banned substances. The checkpoint in Soi Thai Udom came in a close second with 25 teenagers failing the urine test.
All of the drug failures got a free ride to Banglamung police station where further testing awaited them and if proved still positive then they face a day in court.

Thailand Minister of Public Health Inspects Pattaya New Year Carnage Preparedness
At New Years in Thailand millions of folks undergo long treks back home to celebrate the New Year with friends and family back home in Nakhon Nowhere. Millions will be cavorting in pubs and clubs consuming copious amounts of alcohol and then the carnage begins as they attempt to mount or enter a lethal weapon in an intoxicated state.
Police and emergency services plan months in advance to cope with this certain carnage which will see thousands killed on the roads of Thailand and tens of thousands left severely injured or maimed for life during the main five days between December the 31st and The 4th of January.
Police officers are put on overtime to man the checkpoints. Blow in the bag kits prepared. Thousands of extra body bags ordered and distributed to be made available at traditional Thailand death spots. Doctors, nurses, paramedics put on emergency readiness and 24 hour round the clock standby.
In Pattaya Dr.Ratchata Ratchatanawin The Minister of Public Health and his entourage descended on one of the main accident emergency centres in the area BangLamung hospital to inspect the preparations for this years season of blood and gore.

Drunken Driver Crashes Ford Pick-up in Naklua Pattaya
Banglamung Police received notification from the Thappraya 2310 Foundation of a serious road accident in their jurisdiction. A team was immediately sent to investigate the incident. A rescue unit from The Sawang Boriboon Tharmma Satharn Rescue Foundation was also diespatched to provide assistance.
At the scene on the Sukhumvit road in Na Kluea, North Pattaya they found a Ford Ranger pick-up truck laying on it's side
The driver of the Bankok plated pick-up Khun Phurithat aged 29 had suffered an injury to his left arm but was lucky to have escaped so lightly considering the high speed crash that he had just escaped from. He had sustained a fairly minor injury to his left arm and was treated at the scene by medics before being transported to Banglamung Hospital for further treatment. The police noted that he smelt of alcohol and seemed to be in an inebriated state.
The police questioned a nearby noodle vendor who witnessed the incident she told the police that she saw the pick-up truck being driven at high speed. The driver lost control hit a concrete island causing the vehicle to become airborne before landing on its side and slide about 300 metres before crashing into a concrete column and coming to halt in the opposite carriageway.
It was a miracle that there were no vehicles around at the time and that no one else was injured. It will also be a miracle if the driver escapes drunken driving charges.

Serious Road Accident in Banglamung, Pattaya
Police and a Unit of The Pattaya Sawang Boriboon Rescue Foundation attended the scene of a serious road traffic accident on The Pattaya bound lane of Sukhumvit Road near the Banglamung Transportation Offices.
The driver of a Toyota Corrola vehicle had lost control spun and crashed. There were two people trapped inside the car. Rescue workers needed to use cutting equipment and the jaws of life to extricate the driver Khun Namphon aged 40 and his passenger Khun Chatri aged 38.
Khun Chatri was lucky and had sustained only minor injuries and abrasions. The driver Khun Namphon however was in a bad condition with broken ribs puncturing his lungs and other serious wounds to his face and body.
They were both rushed to Banglamung Hospital for further emergency treatment. Meanwhile Police officers from Banglamung Police Station set to work documenting the crash scene and interviewing witnesses to find out what happened.

2 Drunken Motorcyclists injured in East Pattaya Crash

A motorcycle transporting two inebriated Thai idiots back to their room had collided with a pick-up truck.

Medics were treating a Khun Thavisak who was laying in the road beside his trusty steed writhing in pain with a swollen face and other injuries indicative of flying through the air and sliding along a tarmac surface. His mate had already been transported to Banglamung Hospital presumably with more serious injuries.
As for the driver of the pick-up truck goodness only knows he or she was noticable by their absence after dong a typical Thai runner.

Banglamung Loan Shark Raid
They seek him here, they seek him there but unfortunately for the Banglamung authorities their target for the evening Khun Tanin was not at home when they paid him a visit.
Banglamung District Chief Khun Sakchai conducted a raid on a Whisky Shop in Soi Tanman accompanied by a task force of district officials, Banglamung Police Officers and a military back up force. The raid had nothing to do with whiskey however. Complaints had been received from members of the public that a Khun Tanin aged 37 was running a loan sharking operation and also an undercover lottery and betting syndicate.
Khun Yupin aged 35 was in charge of the shop and she denied all knowledge of any nefarious activities being carried out from the premises. Officials searched the shop and another location in Soi Chaitapreuk2. A number of documents including bank books and vehicle registration documents were seized in the raid that are thought to show millions of Baht of ill gained gains.
The Banglamung Authorities say that they will continue surveillance on this property and other properties that appear to have been rented to foreigners in the hope that Khun Tanin will show his nose.

A press conference was held at Banglamung Police Station to announce the arrest of 7 members of a local drug gang and the seizure of a sizable amount of class 1 narcotics.
Police Colonel Sanit The Commander of Police Region 2 took charge over the press conference flanked by senior police officers from Chonburi and Banglamung.
The drug dealing gang - 7 men and one women were apprehended in an operation that also seized 7,000 yaba (methamphetamine) tablets and 340 grams of crystal meth. Also seized were a number of mobile phones with contact numbers of dealers and customers that the police are working their way through.
All of the arrested confessed in their involvement in a drugs network that appears to have been masterminded by a serving inmate of Chonburi Prison. More arrests are set to follow.

TMN Cable TV Present Computer Equipment to Banglamung Police
At Banglamung Police Station a ceremony took place where Khun Somsin the Managing Director of TMN Cable TV presented Banglamung Police with computer equipment and Cable TV equipment as well as a souvenir TMN Cable TV clock to adorn the wall of the police station and no doubt ensure that police officers and police station staff turn up for work on time.
Banglamung Police Colonel Thamnun thanked Khun Somsin for his company's kind donation and stressed that the computer equipment would be a valuable aid in police investigations and the fight against crime in the Banglamung area.

Three Drug Dealers Arrested in East Pattaya
Senior Police Officers from Chonburi, Banglamung and Nongprue Police forces held a joint press conference at Banglamung Police Station to announce the arrest of several drug dealers and the seizure of a sizable quantity of illegal drugs.
First to receive the star treatment in front of the perp of the day cameras was Khun Woramet aged 27 who was arrested at the Pattaya Reunreung Village in Soi Kaotalo. He had 50g of Yaa Ice (Methamphetamine) on his person. A search of his home revealed just over 1kg of Yaa Ice. The police also announced the seizure of some of his tools of the trade - portable scales, a Nokia mobile phone and a Honda Wave motorcycle.
Next up were Khun Gamon aged 39 and Khun Munchalee aged 26 who were caught in Soi Khao Noi in East Pattaya with 6g of Yaa Ice and 165 Yaa Baa Tablets. They were in a Honda Civic vehicle which with all likelihood they will never get the pleasure of driving again as it was taken into evidence as well.

Banglamung Hospital Donation Box Theft
Banglamung Police were called in to investigate the theft of money from a donation box at Banglamung Hospital. Police found that the large clear plastic donation box located next to a ground floor elevator had been forced open and all the money removed. A hospital porter had called the police after receiving a report from a nurse who was leaving the hospital at the end of her shift.
They noticed a CCTV camera pointing directly at the box but when they went to the security control room on the third floor they found that the CCTV camera had not been working at the tine of the theft.
The box was set up by the lift at 8am and stored aware at 6pm every day. The purpose for the box was to collect donations to buy new medical equipment for the poorly funded Government hospital. It is not known how much money was in the box.
Police collected latent fingerprints at the scene and will compare with criminal records when they get back to the station.

Car Driver Burnt Alive in East Pattaya Crash
Nongprue Police, Fire Engines and a Unit of The Sawang Boriboon Rescue Foundation were dispatched to provide assistance at a serious road accident in East Pattaya where a car had rammed into the back of a truck and burst into flames.
Rescuers arrived on the scene on Route 36 near The Bira International Racing Circuit to find a white Toyota Yaris with Rayong plates totally engulfed in flames and rammed under the rear of a 10 Wheeler lorry. Rescuers concentrated on containing an LPG fire from a ruptured gas tank on the Toyota. It was not until the fire had been extinguished that they could get to the charred remains of the driver.
There was no ID for the driver and the description tall and thin leads police to think that he may have been a foreigner.
The driver of the truck Khun Panom aged 55 who was transporting steel from Bang Yai in Nonthaburi to Rayong Province said that he was driving his vehicle normally when he felt a thud and heard what he thought was a bomb going off at the rear of his vehicle. He had tried to get the driver out but was beaten back by the flames.
The body of the deceased driver was transported to Banglamung Hospital for a full post mortem to be carried out. Meanwhile from the details of the wrecked Toyota the police are trying to shed some light on his identity.

Banglamung White House Project
Banglamung District Officers have been touring communities in their jurisdiction to explain a new scheme to the local residents in the continuing fight against drug use in the area. The officers gathered together community leaders and citizens to explain the White House initiative.
The White House Project calls for mass drug testing in the community. People who tested positive for drugs would have a public notice pinned to the house to tell everyone that this is a home of drug users.
This project has proved to be a positive exercise in shaming the drug addicts and focussing the members of the community on those whose actions are doing harm to their own lives and the lives of others.

Burapha University Chonburi Community Visit to Elderly in Banglamung Pattaya
Students from Burapha University along with Officials of Banglamung District held a luncheon for elderly folks at The general hall of The Banglamung Social Welfare Development Building.
The students had brought along much needed personal supplies for the old folks including - toilet paper, adult diapers, and soap powder.
There was a happy atmosphere as the elderly folks in attendance thanked their benefactors. Then they all got down to a good old sing song.

Banglamung Community Visits
Khun Wanchai from Banglamung District along with a posse of senior officers went shopping this week to stock up on gift baskets of fruit, food and provisions. These were not for themselves and not to be given as gifts at some fance district party - these were on hand as they made another of their regular visits to the less well off and not so well members of the local community.
They visited the homes of several elderly women in the Nernplubwan area of East Pattaya where they had a chin wag with the ladies and presented cash donations along with their gift baskets and household provisions which were gratefully received.

Pattaya Drugs Network Marketing
The big brass were in force at a press conference led by the acting commander of Pattaya Police Station Khun Suppatee. They announced the arrest of three drug dealers and a significant amount of their evil products.
On parade today were: Khun Sophon also known as (Eood) aged 35 with 4,000 Yaa Baa (Methamphetamine Tablets), Khun Aekkachai AKA (Bird) aged 19 with 388 Yaa Baa tablets and Khun Paitoon AKA (Nut) aged 24 with 100 Yaa Baa tablets.
Undercover operations by drug suppression agents had first resulted in the arrest of Khun Sophon who was removed from the van he was driving along with the 4,000 tablets of Yaa Baa.
He told the police that he had made contacts with drug dealers while he was enjoying a short holiday courtesy of the department of corrections at Chonburi Prison. He would get 5,000 Baht for each package of 2,000 tablets he passed on. The network spread through there and he soon passed on the names of some of his lower minions in this network marketing business.
Officers continued to investigate the leadfs proffered and arrested Khun Aekkachai at a Buddhist shrine in Khao Maikaew, Banglamung and Khun Paitoon at a cockfighting arena in Banglamung.

Grandmother Commits Suicide in Pattaya
Banglamung Police officers were dispatched to investigate the death of a 66 year old lady in North Pattaya.
At the house in Moo 8 of Baan Thungkrat they found the dead body of 66 year old grandmother Khun Pairin. She was laying face down on the bed in a pool of blood. It appears that she had been dead for about 3-4 hours and it is thought that she died from wounds inflicted to her arms and a self inflicted stab wound to her chest. A 15 inch kitchen knife was also at the scene.
The body had been found by her cousin Khun Malidar aged 46. A niece of the deceased Khun Arita aged 30 explained that her Aunt had recently been released from the Srithanya Hospital in Bangkok, which specialises in dealing with mental health patients and was due to go back as an out patient.
She had suffered from mental health problems for a long time and despite being released from hospital she was suicidal and still mentally unstable and would suffer from sudden and unexplained mood swings.
A post mortem will be carried out before the body is released back to the family for funeral rites to be carried out.

Nongprue Police and a unit of the Sawang Boriboon Rescue Foundation were called to attend a serious motorcycle accident involving multiple vehicles, multiple casualties and possible fatalities.
At the scene close to the Redemptorist Vocational School and The Elephant Farm in East Pattaya they came across a scene of carnage.Apparently a Honda Wave motorcycle carrying three youths had tried to take a bend at high speed and hit a speed bump and then crashed head on into another Honda Wave Motorcycle. The racing motorcycle burst into flames.
The 15 year old driver of the motorcycle was laying dead in the road a few meters from the now burning motorcycle. Close to him was the body of one of his 15 year old passengers and the badly injured second passenger also aged 15

North Pattaya Counterfeit Goods Warehouse Raided
A press conference was held at Banglamung Police Station where Police Major General Sanit the Acting Region 2 Police Commissioner announced the results of a search and seize operation which took place at a warehouse in North Pattaya suspected of being a storage and distribution facility for counterfeit goods.
The raid was carried out with a search warrant issued by Pattaya Provincial Court. At the time of the raid the warehouse was not occupied so no one was arrested. However as was thought the warehouse contained a huge quantity of fake and counterfeited merchandise destined for the streets of Pattaya.
Seized in the raid were: A total of 1,042 counterfeit branded items with an estimated retail value of 800,000 Baht. There were many Counterfeit Samsung Mobile Phone Covers as well as goods with Brands such as Adidas and Camel.
Tourists visiting Pattaya can now breathe a sigh of relief that they won't be tempted with fake brand name souvenirs and will be happy to pay thousands of Baht more for the real thing.

Pattaya Boy Racers Nabbed
Police forces all around the Eastern Seaboard region have received instructions to crack down on all instances of criminal and anti-social behaviour. After receiving information of a forthcoming gathering of motorcycle racers in Pattaya. Banglamung police planned and conducted an operation to wave the chequered flag at them before they got chance to get to the finishing line.
At the scene of the on road racetrack the motorcycle madness maniacs assembled to face off for the title of the fastest moped rider in the land. The police had other ideas.
Of course the group of high power moped muppets were well equipped to get a fast getaway but with around 100 boy racers assembled it was inevitable that more than a few were in store for an early pit stop.
The police managed to snag 10 motorcycles and 18 youths who were just a tad slow off the mark. Their machines were impounded and the disgruntled youths hauled off for mandatory drug and brain cell testing.

Banglamung Pattaya Crime Crackdown
Police Major General Sanit the Acting-Commissioner of Police Region 2 held a press conference at Banglamung Police Station to announce the progress of a major crackdown on crime on the area.
First up was the arrest of cafe owner Khun Damrongsuk, who is the owner of the Superstar Cafe in the Lompok area in the north of Pattaya. Khun Damrongsuk was detained on the strength of an arrest warrant issued by Pattaya Provincial Court relating to charges of Money laundering, firearms and human trafficking offences.
Police raided the cafe and his home 11 rifles and handguns were seized along with 977 bullets, a land Title Deed, 9 bank account books, credit cards, computers, gold necklaces and gold ornaments, 2 vehicles and other smaller items with a combined value of over 1 Million Baht. With regard to the human trafficking charges he is alleged to have procured for prostitution, trafficked and allowed to work children under the age of 18 to work in his cafe business.
Police Major General Sanit then moved on to announce the results of a crime suppression operation in the area which took place between 11th and 15th June and saw the arrest of 2 suspected drug dealers along with the seizure of 100 Yaa Baa (Methamphetamine tablets) Many suspects accused of Marijuana possession and consumption, 12 suspected dice gamblers and 6 men involved in illegal cock fighting, and a partridge in a pear tree.
