Chonburi Immigration Officers based in Pattaya, conducted an undercover operation and then raided a Karaoke Bar in Sriracha District. which was alleged to be employing foreign workers who were not in possession of work permits.
Their sources proved correct and when they entered the restaurant and Karaoke Bar Chai Isara they found a number of employees Thai and foreign but not the owner who had conveniently taken a little time off which coincidentally coincided with the arrivel of the raiding party.
ID cards, Passports and work permits were carefully checked, looked at and scrutinised. 20 of the staff were detained for further investigations to be carried out. These were mainly Laoatian and Vietnamese hostesses whose job description was something like holding their guests microphones and consuming large quantities of coloured water at highly inflated water. Sounds like Pattaya doesn't it?
10 Vietnamese ladies who worked in the evenings and 13 ladies from the Democratic Republic of Laos were all able to produce their passports but sadly work permits were conspicuous by their absences
The ladies said that they had worked at the Karaoke bar for 2 weeks and were paid a princely or princessly sum of 100 Baht a day. Sadly, for them they all face the likelihood that they will be deported back to their home countries fairly soon.

Sriracha Bungled Hostage Situation
Police officers in Sriracha rushed to the scene of a hostage situation in a house near Wat Phansadet.
A crazed man was holding his wife at gunpoint. Khun Paiboon aged 35 was seen frantically pacing the room and groaning in a strange fashion. The police cordoned off the area and asked Khun Paiboon to put down the gun and surrender. Khun Paiboon refused to give himself up and fired 6 shots at the police. They again asked him to throw his weapon out the window. They were reluctant to return fire knowing that his wife was inside.
Khun Paiboon pushed his wife to the floor and then left the house by the rear door and disappeared through a cemetery and into dense woodland even denser than the police who had clearly not sealed off the premises. His wife refused to give a statement to the police or provide any clues as to his probable whereabouts.
Police assume that Khun Paiboon's rants were drug fuelled and that he should be caught quickly as he may be dangerous. Yes after 6 shots fired at police I would probably come up with the same conclusion.

Ex-Husband Fatally Stabs Wif'es New Lover in Sriracha
A pair of lovers in Sriracha had booked into a motel in Bowin near Sriracha to do what young Thai lovers do - watch cartoons when the ex-husband turned up and a fatal fight ensued.
Bowin police were called to the scene at a room in the Red Heart Hotel where they found 18 year old Khun Machima in a distressed state. Her new boyfriend of just one month Khun Suwat aged 33, was laying in a pile of blood. He had sustained stab wounds to his chest and back and was barely clinging to life. Medics did what they could but he died soon after from his wounds and severe blood loss.
Khun Machima told the police that her ex-husband had been stalking her. She had booked the hotel room so that she could welcome home her boyfriend Khun Suwat who had just returned from Malaysia. Her ex-husband Khun Satitphong had tracked her down to the motel and barged into the room armed with a knife and a vicious fight broke out. The ex-husband fled after repeatedly stabbing her boyfriend, fleeing on a motorcycle.
Police have now launched a manhunt for this dangerous killer and expect an arrest to come very soon.

Elderly Motorcyclist Killed by Hit and Run Driver in Sriracha
Another hit and run accident. This time in Nong Kham near Sriracha claiming the life of a 70 year old gentleman. Nong Kham Police and a Rescue Foundation Unit rushed to the scene of the accident to find the lifeless body of Khun Paitoon aged 70 and his nearby Honda Wave motorcycle. Khun Paitoon was laying in a pool of blood and had suffered a broken skull.
Eyewitnesses said that they saw the motorcycle driven by Khun Paitoon being hit by a vehicle but they could not give a description or make of the vehicle. Fortunately or unfortunately if you happen to be the callous driver a number plate was left at the scene.
Police expect to be able to trace the owner of the vehicle very soon. Meanwhile the body of Khun Paitoon was transported to Leam Chabang Hospital for a full post mortem to be carried out before his body can be released to relatives for funeral rites to be carried out.

Sattahip Schoolboys Attempted Rape Meeting With Parents
Sattahip Police Captain Aekachai held a meeting with the parents of 8 school boys who allegedly attempted to gang rape one of their classmates. The girl managed to escape her tormentors by biting two of them and screaming for help. A teacher heard her screams and managed to intervene and save the girl from any further ordeals.
The meeting in the presence of social workers from The Ministry of Social Development and Human Security was to decide how to proceed with the allegations of the youngsters indulging in indecent acts against another minor.
It was decided that any prosecutions will be handed over to the central juvenile and family court in order for the boys to be prosecuted.

Body Found in Sattahip
Sattahip Police and a unit of the Sawang Rojana Rescue Foundation were called to a residence in Sattahip after a body had been found. At the scene in Moo 3 of Amarin City, Sattahip they found the body of Khun Chokchai aged 28.
The deceased was laying on the bed half naked and appeared to have died from natural causes. There were no signs of a struggle or foul play. It appears that he may have died from exhaustion and severe dehydration after a prolonged bought of Diorhea. It seems that he had been dead for about two days.
A neighbour Khun Kanda said that she had found the body after she had heard repeated barking from the owners dog. The body of the deceased was taken to Sattahip Hospital for a full post mortem to be carried out.

Thai Soldier Mown Down By Hit and Run Truck in Sriracha
Sriracha Police and rescue workers were called to attend an accident on The Sukhumvit Road in Sriracha. At the scene they found a young soldier Khun Phumin aged 22 who was laying on the road bleeding and unconscious with his Honda Wave motorcycle laying close by
Khun Phumin was on his way to pick up his girlfriend in Leam Chabang when he was rear ended by a flat bed lorry. He was given first aid at the scene and then transported to hospital for further emergency treatment.
The police meanwhile are searching for the driver of the lorry who as is the norm failed to stop and fled the scene in the cover of darkness.

Sriracha Technical School Hijacked on Sukhumvit Road
A young college student from Sriracha Technical School was driving along Sukhumvit Road to meet a friend in Sattahip district. As he was stood at a set of traffic lights near South Pattaya a couple of motorcycles pulled up alongside him. The bikes had three men and three women on them. Tow of the men hopped off and got on the back of his motorcycle. One of them pushed a gun in his back and ordered him to drive on.
They directed him to a deserted soi and then relieved him of his iPhone 4 mobile phone, 1,800 Baht in cash and left him stranded as they rode off on his motorcycle. Khun Permpon aged 19 made his own way to the police station to report the highway robbery. He was able to give descriptions of the robbers all about 20 years old and descriptions of the motorcycles they were riding.
Police technical officers were able to get a GPS ping from the stolen phone somewhere in the Jomtien Beach area before the signal stopped obviously the phone had been turned off. They are hoping the phone may be turned on again sometime soon meanwhile they are examining images from CCTV cameras in the area that may give them more leads as to their identities.

Artillery Shell Found in Sriracha
Another unexplored shell was discovered this week this time in Tungsukhla District of Sriracha. The device was discovered in a ditch adjacent to a workers accommodation block. Police and bomb disposal technicians from Region 2 police headquarters were dispatched to handle the find.
They found a 105mm artillery shell approximately 24 inches long and 5 inches wide with a weight of about 30 Kg. The experts removed the device and took it away to be disposed of in a remote and desolate location.
It should be noted that there are not more shells being dumped around Thai communities but with the onset of the Hot season drainage ditches and water levels in ponds are low so these things become more easily visible.

Rape and Assault in Sriracha, Chonburi
Police Leutenant Tharathep of The Leam Chabang Police and a unit of the Sawang Pratheep Rescue Foundation were called to give assistance to a woman who claimed to have been raped and assaulted.
They went immediately to the scene at a security box outside Sukhum Karn Chang Co., Ltd. on the side of highway 36 in Tambon Thoong Sookkhala, Amphur Sriracha.
A lady aged 40 was laying on the ground in a dazed and confused state. She claimed that she had been beaten up and raped by her uncle Khun Soonthorn aged 45.
The police went to interview Khun Soonthorn who lives nearby. It appears that the victim was drinking with Khun Soonthorn the previous evening and when he got drunk he became violent when he asked her to pay back 3,000 Baht that she had borrowed from him. When she refused he knocked her unconscious and raped her in front of his wife who had returned to the room and saw everything that happened.
Both Khun Soonthorn and his wife had minor injuries and further enquiries and interviews will be needed to find out exactly what happened.

Explosive Situation in Sriracha, Chonburi
In Sriracha police officers and police volunteers were manning a traffic checkpoint when a regular traffic stop and search turned up more than they bargained for. A Khun Nitthikorn aged 27 was merrily riding along on his Honda Click motorcycle when he was flagged down.
Police checked him out and whilst looking round his motorcycle they examined a bag in the shopping basket at the front. Inside they found a quantity of .38 ammunition and some packages with an unknown substance. Always on the lookout for drugs the officers poked and prodded the package until one of them suddenly realized what the substance was. Explosives!! The cool Khun Nitthikorn was driving around Sriracha with a bag of ammunition and a TNT type explosive dumped in his shopping basket.
In the west he would have been on the ground in a flash and the bomb squad, Swat teams and anti-terrorist squads screaming to the location. But this is not the west this is Thailand.
Khun Nitthikorn was politely questioned as to where he got the stuff from. He said that he was happy some friend had given him the ammunition and explosives for free and had absolutely no idea, as most Thai motorcyclists have no idea of anything that his load was at all dangerous.
Khun Nitthikorn's day got a little worse when the officers took the piss and he failed a drugs test.
So the nutty Khun Nitthikorn was now down at the police station facing drug charges whilst the police brass sort out what to do with the explosives.

Lady Boy Shop Lifter Lifted in Sriracha
Police in Sriracha thwarted a high level thief in high heels as she made her escape after robbing a Seven-Eleven store of a massive quantity of goods.
Employees had spotted the suspected thief concealing items about her person and alerted police when the thief made her get away. Police quickly arrived on scene. One team examined CCTV images whilst the other team went in hot pursuit of the high heeled hijacker.
The police were more fleet of foot probably due to the fact that they were not wearing their high heels whilst on duty and the suspect was duly apprehended. The police were taken aback to find that the high heeled robber was not a she but a he. Yes a lady boy larcenist or was it just a straight guy wearing a disguise to evade arrest. We will never know

Cambodians Crash Motorcycle in Sriracha
A unit of The Sawang Boriboon Rescue Foundation was dispatched to attend the scene of a serious road accident in Surasak District of Sriracha
At the scene near The Chinese Temple on Moo 7 they found a wrecked Honda Click motorcycle embedded in a barbed wire fence. There were three casualties all Cambodian nationals. Mr. Rem aged 27, Mr. Uan aged 31 and a Mr. Men aged 35.
It appears that the three who appeared to be under the influence were speeding and tried to take a bend too fast. The result the bike left the road demolished 5 trees before ending up in the wire fence.
All three were treated on the spot by medics there wounds varied from abrasions to serious injuries. They were then then transported to Sriracha hospital by rescue workers for further emergency treatment to be carried out.

Thai Lady Killed in Lorry Hit and Run in Sriracha
Sriracha Police and a Unit of a rescue foundation were called to attend a fatal road accident on the Bangkok bound carriageway of Highway 7 in Tungsukla District.
At they scene they found a wrecked Honda Wave motorcycle and the body of a Miss Jarunee aged 28 from Chayaphum Province. She was a worker at a local factory and appeared to be on her way home when the accident occurred.
An eyewitness said that they had seen the motorcycle approach and it lost control and crashed after hitting a large pot hole in the road. As the rider went to the ground an 18 wheel lorry ran over the victim. The lorry failed to stop and continued towards Chonburi. The driver of the lorry is being sought for causing the death of the young lady.
The body of Miss Jarunee was in a terrible state and was taken to Leam Chabang Hospital for a full post mortem to be carried out before the body can be handed over to relatives for funeral rites to be carried out.
Local residents said that this is not the first fatality in this area. The terrible bad road surface was littered with pot holes. Dozens of accidents had occurred in recent months with many people injured and some unfortunately killed. They demanded that the local agency responsible for road repairs come and fix these lethal pot holes and actually hang around and wait for the repaired holes to dry out before allowing traffic to us the road after repairs.

Sriracha Ninja Phone Robber
A thief dubbed the Nokia Ninja Bandit is being sought by police in Sriracha after a daring raid at a Sriracha department store netted a smart thief a bag full of smart phones.
CCTV cameras clearly caught the nifty ninja in the act as he calmly walked around the first floor of the store smashing in to glass showcases and amassing a fine collection of brand new brand name phones.
Police think that the nighttime Ninja napped in the store over night. Entering the store before closing time and calmly walking out after the store was opened next morning. As for the sleeping policemen - sorry security guards it was a usual case of "I Saw Nothing"

Sriracha Motorcycle Driver Killed by Hit and Run Truck
Nong Kham Police Lieutenant Wisit was called out by a rescue unit to the scene of a fatal road accident in Sriracha. At the scene he found the body of A Khun Natthapon aged 22 from Chanthaburi Province. He had sustained severe head injuries. His Honda Click motorcycle was laying in the road close by.
Witnesses to the accident said that they saw the motorcycle coming up to the nearby bridge when it was struck by a truck which then failed to stop and drove off before anyone could get any details of the truck or it's driver.
Police took photographs and collected evidence at the scene and the body of the deceased motorcycle rider Khun Natthapon was taken to Leam Chabang Hospital for a full post mortem to be carried out.
