Banglamung Pattaya Crime Crackdown

Police Major General Sanit the Acting-Commissioner of Police Region 2 held a press conference at Banglamung Police Station to announce the progress of a major crackdown on crime on the area.

First up was the arrest of cafe owner Khun Damrongsuk, who is the owner of the Superstar Cafe in the Lompok area in the north of Pattaya. Khun Damrongsuk was detained on the strength of an arrest warrant issued by Pattaya Provincial Court relating to charges of Money laundering, firearms and human trafficking offences.

Police raided the cafe and his home 11 rifles and handguns were seized along with 977 bullets, a land Title Deed, 9 bank account books, credit cards, computers, gold necklaces and gold ornaments, 2 vehicles and other smaller items with a combined value of over 1 Million Baht. With regard to the human trafficking charges he is alleged to have procured for prostitution, trafficked and allowed to work children under the age of 18 to work in his cafe business.

Police Major General Sanit  then moved on to announce the results of a crime suppression operation in the area which took place between 11th and 15th June and saw the arrest of 2 suspected drug dealers along with the seizure of 100 Yaa Baa (Methamphetamine tablets) Many suspects accused of Marijuana possession and consumption, 12 suspected dice gamblers and 6 men involved in illegal cock fighting, and a partridge in a pear tree.
