After the imposition of martial law a few weeks ago the authorities made it inordinately clear that citizens must give up their stashes of weapons, ammunition and explosives that they keep hanging around their homes. Now the period of amnesty for the handing over of these weapons is over and the police are becoming pro active in the search and seizure of such items from citizens who did not comply to the orders.

Chonburi Superintendent Police Colonel Sudhisak along with a team of police officers from Nongprue Police Station made a raid on a premises in East Pattaya where they had information a large number of weapons and a large quantity of ammunition were being stored.

After obtaining a search warrant from Pattaya Provincial Court the officers converged on the house of a Khun Phornthep  a 51 year old Pattaya Civil Defense Volunteer. Seized in the raid were a number of unregistered hand guns and pump action shot guns along with .38mm, 9mm, .22mm ammunition and shot gun shells.
