Police Colonel Suppatree the new acting commander of Pattaya Police is starting to stamp his mark on the control of crime in the city of Pattaya. His aim to establish peace and security, confidence and a positive image to the eyes of both Thailand and foreign tourists on the island.
This week he ordered a raid on Koh Larn island - a popular tourist destination out in Pattaya Bay. His instructions - to look out for crime of any type particularly firearms crime and drugs crime.
A team of Pattaya Police Officers led by Pol. Capt. Netithorn set out for a day in the sun and wandered methodically about the island. The raid proved fruitful with 20 offenders, men and women, being rounded up for drug offences. All the suspects were brought back to Bali Hai pier in South Pattaya before they were taken to Pattaya police station in order to prosecute them.
