Chonburi World Cup Betting Crackdown

Chonburi Provincial Police are banking on new methods in the fight against the heinous crime of gambling. The World cup has tempted Thai citizens to take chances and partake in a gambling frenzy that is gripping the nation. 

Recent raids on gambling dens around the Chonburi area mostly related to The World cup has netted a haul of hundreds of thousands of Baht of stake money and a host of computer powered gambling machines. It is thought that punters who have lost their football shirts with these bare faced footie bookies have been blowing the whistle enabling the police to notch up the game and call foul on these match day mobsters.

The mobsters of course have not been too happy when shown the red card and escorted off the field and escorted to the nearest police station. Police are bringing on their subs and threatening to call the game off by confiscating the bookies possessions and premises. With the police on the offence and the bookies clearly playing defence What are the odds that this tactic is going to make a smidgen of a difference.
