Former Thai Boxer Suicide in Nongprue East Pattaya

Nongprue Police in East Pattaya were called to attend and investigate an apparant suicide at Moo Baan Seangsupha in Nongprue District.

At the scene they found a crowd of friends, neighbours and onlookers congregated to gawp outside a two storey shophouse. Inside they found the deceased Khun Tiengchai aged 26 who had hung himself from a metal grille over a window in an upstairs bedroom. He appeared to have died about 1 or 2 hours before his body was discovered. There was no signs of a struggle or any indications of foul play in the room and at this stage pending a post mortem examination police have ruled this a suicide.

In the room was a smashed piggy bank with a few coins strewn about along with some empty whisky bottles. Khun Tiengchai was a former professional boxer and the owner of a beer bar in Central Pattaya. Friends told police that Khun Tiengchai was in a depressed state as he was losing money heavily on his bar business and was gutted that a few days ago he didn't have enough money to buy his son a birthday present.

Another friend said that he was normally a happy guy and they had spent some time drinking and watching football on TV and she was very surprised that he had decided to take his own life.
