Pattaya Police and Officers from Police Region 2 Child and Women Protection Unit raided a room at the Marika Torres Residence" in Moo 6, Soi 4, Naklua, North Pattaya. They had information that a Russian wanted on allegations of offences against children was residing there. At the room they arrested Mr. Anton Protas aged 42. and seized for evidence two notebook computers along with portable hard drives and flash drives, dolls and children's toys.
The authorities had been looking for Mr. Protas for a long while and already had an arrest warrant from Pattaya Provincial Court issued in December of last year.
Police then searched another residence known to have been used by the accused at The Siam Royal View Estate Soi Khao Talo, Nong Prue, East Pattaya where they seized a quantity of condoms and lubricants. Mr. Protas has been under scrutinization for three years and is thought to have abused a number of boys under 15 years of age with allegations that he would punch them in the stomach and carried out other sadistic practises before sexually abusing them.
Mr. Protas denies all allegations. Meanwhile the police are examining the computers and hard drives carefully to search for evidence of his alleged evil deeds.
