Foreigner Drowns on Jomtien Beach Pattaya

Pattaya Police from Dongtan sub-station and a unit of the Sawang Boriboon Rescue Foundation were called to attend a section of the beach where the body of a foreigner had been found.

At the scene opposite the Grand Jomtien Palace Hotel they found the body of a deceased male foreigner laying face down in the sand. The deceased had no identification on him and police could only take a description that may help later to help in the identification process. He had black hair cropped short, around 180 cm tall and was  wearing a black top and black shorts.

The body who had been found by Khun Amnoi aged 70 who had arrived at the location at 4am as usual to work day as a deckchair operator. Whilst sweeping the beach he had noticed the man walking barefoot along the beach near his pog.

Police think that the man had entered the water near this location but their was no evidence to suggest that this could have been a suicide or an accidental drowning.

The body was transported to Banglamung hospital where a post mortem will be carried out. Meanwhile The police are making enquiries at hotels in the Jomtien area to see if they can identify him.
