Life in Pattaya Post Curfew

It is a week since the notification No. 52/2557 was received that effectively ended the curfew imposed by the proclamation of martial law in the tourist areas of Pattaya, Koh Samui and Phuket.

The news was received with relief from businesses in the city who have been suffering tremendously.

Even though the days after the curfew was lifted was a lot hotter many foreigners were taking in the sights and sounds of this unique tourist destination. Walking Street could not be said to be thronged with visitors but the hot and humid night air was a good excuse to quench thirsts with more than a few glasses of ice cold beer. Whether it was in the bars for normal tourists or from seven - elevens for our friends from the former Soviet Union. The atmosphere of Pattaya City is getting back to normal as pubs, bars and various exotic entertainment venues across the city were crowded with Thai tourists and foreign tourists.

Shop owners are also delighted to receive the news that their bank accounts are at last about to receive a much needed low season boost.
