Burmese Construction Worker Murdered in Jomtien Pattaya

Pattaya Police from the Dongtan sub-station on Jomtien Beach and a Unit of The Sawang Boriboon Rescue Foundation were informed of a murder victim who had been discovered on some waste land off Jomtien Second Road.

At the scene near the Baan Fah Rim Haad Village off Jomtien Second Road they found the body of a Khun Jareon aged 37. Khun Jareon was a construction worker of Burmese Nationality who was working at a nearby hotel construction site. Khun Jareon was laying in a pool of blood after receiving numerous wounds to his head and body. There were broken bottles and lumps of concrete nearby with bloodstains on them that are thought to have been the weapons used to kill the man.

Inquiries revealed that Khun Jareon had been drinking with his friend Khun Wichit aged 42 nearby. They had run out of whisky and Khun Jaroen had agreed to go to a convenience store on Second Road to get more. To get to the shop he needed to go through the waste land that was used as a sports field for football, volleyball and Takraew.

A group of men had been seen playing volleyball on the sports field. It is thought that an altercation occurred. The men attacked the Burmese worker and killed him before fleeing the scene. The police are continuing their enquiries to find the killers and bring them to justice.
