Chonburi Animal Clinic Cleaner Caught Robbing Cash Register

The owner of a veterinary clinic in Chonburi was puzzled that money was disappearing from the cash register on a frequent basis. He was pretty certain that none of his patients were responsible and suspected some member of staff had sticky paws.

He set up a CCTV camera pointed towards the till and sat to monitor the comings and goings in the area around the cash register. He didn't have to wait long. a cleaner employed at The Animal House Veterinary Hospital Khun Kobchai aged 28 using a pair of scissors prised open the cash drawer and removed 15,000 Baht.

The owner rushed downstairs but Khun Kobchai did a runner pursued by the clinic owner. Local citizens helped to capture and detain the thief until police arrived.

Khun Kobchai from Samut Songkram Province said that he had been arrested previously for carrying an illegal firearm and at this time he was under great pressure from his family as his wife was paralysed and his 2 year old daughter was suffering from Asthma and needed more money. He admitted that he had stolen money from his employers on at least 5 occasions.
