Khun Wattana The Deputy Mayor of Pattaya presided over a meeting at Pattaya City Hall. The subject of the meeting was English language training for educational personnel in Pattaya. To prepare for Thailand's entry into The ASEAN Community.
Khun Jinda The Director of the Pattaya Department of Education outlined the purposes and aims of the project which purports to bring in experts to train teachers and educational professionals in the fine art of English language training.
The emphasis should be on Teaching activities, especially listening skills which should be the most effective to give the students the ability to communicate in the ASEAN community whose common language is English.
Expert native speakers were also invited to give their knowledge and expertise. So an emphasis on English Language listening skills will certainly help to train Thai youngsters and give them the necessary skills to listen, understand and nod frequently all across The ASEAN Region.
Next on the agenda I suggest should be to teach them the skills to speak English in a way that gives people a remote chance that they can be understood. OK I'm just dreaming.
