Fatal Motorcycle Accident in Na Jomtien Pattaya

Na Jomtien police officers and a unit from The Sawang Rojana Foundation rushed to help after receiving reports of a serious road accident involving a motorcycle and a pick-up truck on Sukhumvit Highway.

At the scene at Km 162 near the entrance to Moo8 They found a Honda Wave motorcycle laying in the road with serious damage to it's rear end. The rider of the motorcycle Khun Chaiyuth Saengphet, aged 31 was laying face down on the road nearby. Khun Chaiyuth had suffered a broken neck and appeared to have died instantly in the accident.

An eyewitness Miss Angwara Buakaew, aged 20 said that she was driving her motorcycle behind the Honda when a pick-up truck travelling at high speed overtook her and then slammed into the back of the motorcycle in front.

The driver of the pick-up failed to stop and sped off in the direction of Sattahip. It is thought that Khun Chaiyuth who was still wearing his company uniform was on his way home from work.

The police photographed the scene and collected evidence in the hope that they may give some clues as to the identity of the truck and give them a chance to catch the cowardly hit and run driver.
