Serial Burlary in Central Pattaya

Pattaya Police were called in to investigate a burglary spree at The Grand View Condominiums in Central Pattaya. At the scene they went straight to the 9th floor where a Mrs Phimlapat was waiting at her room that had been ransacked. With her was her British husband who had passed out when he realised that they had been burgled and was laying out on the floor.

Mrs Phimlapat explained that they had just returned from a bar in Soi Buakhow where they had been out for the evening. All of her jewelry had been stolen including 40 diamond rings, diamond pendants, diamond earrings, numerous gold chains weighing about 25 baht The total value of the haul somewhere between 5 and 10 million Baht.

It seems that the next room had also been burgled as the door had been forced and then the burglar or burglars had gained entry by climbing over the balcony to the next room where the jewelry was taken.

A search also revealed that two other condos close by had been entered and ransacked. It is not clear what had been stolen from the other condo's as the owners had not returned home at that time. Police think that the culprit may be a resident at the condominium complex as it seems they had inside knowledge as to which condo's to target and how to gain entry. The police have taken fingerprints and are examining CCTV footage to see if they can identify the serial burglar.
