After the imposition of martial law in Thailand the military authorities made it perfectly clear that anyone found in possession of illegal weapons, ammunition and explosives would be dealt with severely. Consequently folks all over the country have been ditching their normal household stashes of automatic weapons, hand grenades and RPG's
Chonburi police were the latest to respond to a report of weapons being found. At the scene in Tambon Phai, Bang Bung District they found a plastic bag laying under some bushes at the side of the road. After an initial inspection revealed what seemed to be a cache of hand grenades the bomb disposal squad were called in to deal with the find.
The Officers found a grenade launcher and 2 RPG launchers with over 100 live grenades and projectiles. The devices were safely dealt with. Police are now looking to safely deal with the person or persons responsible with the dumping of war weapons in a public place.
