A team of officers from Region 2 Child and Women Protection Section along with Pattaya Police officers and US Embassy Officials armed with an arrest warrant from Pattaya Provincial Court affected the arrest of an American National at his home in Soi 20 off Pattaya Third Road.

The American Mr. Christopher Lee Hobbs aged 56 is charged with sexually assaulting two Cambodian children boys aged 13 & 14. It is alleged that Mr. Hobbs sexually assaulted the Cambodian boys after meeting them on Walking Street in South Pattaya.

The boys who are already in the care of Banglamung Women and Child Shelter in Banglamung whilst another sexual abuse case is being investigated decided to take a trip to Walking Street where they met up with the American who offered them 1,000 Baht for sexual services.

They accompanied Mr. Hobbs to his house where the alleged sexual assaults then took place. On returning to the shelter they told the Director who then informed the police.

Mr. Hobbs who is an engineer and a partner in a local company supplying drinking water allegedly has a history of enticing, picking up and abusing young boys. However on this occasion he vehemently denies all allegations against him. He will now have to explain himself to a Thai Judge at Pattaya Provincial Court.
