Chonburi Police Major General Thanet along with senior military officers were on scene at an old banana tree grove in Baan Suan, Chonburi to oversee the removal of a large amount of munitions that had been found hidden there. The banana plantation was about 30 square meters and located close to houses and a school.
Initial reports were that there were about 30 RPG Rocket propelled grenade rounds. A careful search by military munitions officers unearthed 27 RPG rounds and also 6 boxes of M67 ammunition with 150 rounds inside.
The police are now examining CCTV cameras in the area to see if they can find the person who seems to have lost his ammunition stash.
