Iraqi Burglars Caught in Jomtien Pattaya

The new Acting Commander of Pattaya Police Station Police Colonel Supatree held a press conference to announce the arrest of two Iraq Nationals, suspected of Burglary with claims that they were part of an International criminal gang who are committing similar crimes all over Thailand.

The two Iraqi's Mr. Haider Adel Twaiur aged 34 and Mr.Talal Tarik Alsadune aged 40 were captured commiting a burglary at the View Talay Holiday Resort on Jomtien Second Road.

Police had received a tip off and were laying in wait for the pair. At the scene one of the thieves was waiting in a car with the engine running ready to make an escape. The other emerged from the premises that he had ransacked and were promptly pounced on by a team of officers.

The raid had netted an Olympus Digital Camera, a Silver necklace, 2 Seiko Wrist Watches and a quantity of foreign currency. Also in his possession were a kit of burglary tools including screwdrivers, and a set of skeleton keys and locksmith's equipment that they claimed to have purchased in Australia for 40,000 Baht.

Under questioning by the police they would not admit to their crimes. The police however have information that leads them to believe that they are part of a transnational gang of thieves from Iraq, Algeria and Turkey who are known to have committed similar crimes at hotels, luxury condos and houses all over the Thailand.
