Fatal Crash in Leam Chabang Chonburi Caused by Drunken Driver Kills Three

Leam Chabang Police and rescue workers rushed to the scene of a serious road accident involving two pick-up trucks resulting in multiple casualties. At the scene they found a Toyota Vigo pick-up and a Mitsubishi Triton Pickup truck.

The driver of the Toyota Khun Sanan aged 61 had managed to get out of his cab but was now deceased. His passenger Khun Permsak was still in the vehicle and seriously injured. He had to be extracted from the wrecked pick-up truck and was suffering from serious blood loss. He was immediately transported to Leam Chabang Hospital but succumbed to the injuries he sustained in the crash and died in hospital a short time later. Another person, a lady aged 36 who was in the vehicle was also declared dead at the scene.

The driver of the other vehicle involved in the accident Khun Chawarin aged 24 was initially a little luckier. He had only suffered a broken left arm in the crash. He was not so lucky when the police thought that they could smell alcohol on his breath and a subsequent breath test proved positive.

From the accident scene and witness statements it seems that the drunken driver had drifted across the road in front of the oncoming vehicle causing the accident and subsequently causing the death of it's driver and passengers.
