Kidnapped Pattaya Lady Rescued from Buriram

A bizarre kidnapping case was resolved this week when a lady who was whisked away from a bar in Pattaya without her bar fine being paid and imprisoned by a loan shark gang at an up-country location was rescued and released by a joint police and military operation.

Khun Yupin had made the mistake of borrowing 70,000 Baht from the loan sharks. This mistake was then compounded by not keeping up the re-payments and extortionate compound interest.

So the gang kidnapped her from the bar she was working at and attempted to extort money from her family who demanded the loan repaid and an extra 300,000 Baht for their trouble.

The victim's family went straight to Pattaya Police Station and immediately brought a swift response from the boys in brown who were deeply concerned for her safety.

Within 24 hours of the abduction The police had identified the location where the lady was being held in Buriram Province and a joint Thai Army Thai Police task force dispatched to secure release. Several arrests were made and charges made pending further investigations for kidnapping, false imprisonment and extortion. Including Khun Tanaporn she confessed that she and Mr Anuchaa had kidnapped Khun Yupin and their son Khun Chang who was waiting in Bangkok to receive the ransom payment.
