A Pattaya journalist made a report to Pattaya police of a suspect package that he had noticed opposite Pattaya Technical College. Police rushed to the scene and immediately cordoned off the area whilst specialist officers inspected the suspicious box.
The cardboard box was about 15 x 25 cm and sealed with Scotch Tape. Electrical wires were seen coming from the inside of the box. Experts carefully cut open the box to reveal a stone and an electrical circuit board - there were no explosives. Police are now examining CCTV cameras in the area to try to find out who left the box at this location and whether this was a bomb hoax or just a prank.
