Concerned residents in a Sattahip community called in the authorities as they were very concerned about two young children who were left alone in a small house to fend for themselves and who would frequently scream from the beatings meted out by their father when he returned home.
At the small one storey house in Soi Sattahip Sukhumvit 3, Moo 4 Tambon Sattahip they found two little girls aged 2 and 4 locked inside a room. The girls were scruffy and spent most of their time begging for food from passers by through the iron bars of the window.
The police gained entry and found the living conditions were deplorable with rubbish all over the place. The two girls apart from being filthy were covered in cuts and bruises. They had been beaten with coat hangers by their father.
The father Khun Aekkachai aged 24 works as a car mechanic and said that after his wife abandoned him and the children he had to leave the kids alone sometimes to go to work to earn money.
Whoever reported the situation to the authorities is to be commended for their action but I wonder how long the youngsters have had to endure this terrible treatment.
