Finnish Man Commits Suicide at Jomtien Condo

Pattaya Police from Dongtan sub-station in Jomtien and a unit of The Sawang Boriboon Rescue Foundation were called to a nearby condominium complex after receiving a report that a foreigner had appeared to have committed suicide by jumping from the building.

At the scene The Jomtien Beach Condominium they found the body of Mr. Rusanen Karri Olavei aged 52 from Finland. It appears that Mr. Olavei had jumped from the 18th floor of the condo and landed on the roof of the car park which would be the 4th floor. 

The police were able to contact The victims Girlfriend, Khun Panee aged 45 who came immediately to the scene Obviosly she was in distress but was able to provide the police with some details. She said that Mr. Olavei had recently arrived in Thailand and was staying at the R-Con Apartments in Soi Buakhao He had told her that he was going to Jomtien on Thursday morning to see a friend but had no idea why he would want to kill himself.

Khun Nailert aged 54, a Security Guard at the Condominium who found the body said that he did not think Mr. Olavei was a resident at the condo and thinks that he may have snook into the building. 

Mr. Olavei chose a high structure and was successful in his suicide attempt. The body of the deceased was taken to hospital by rescue workers where a full forensic post mortem will be carried out and the police have contacted the Embassy of Finland in Bangkok to inform them of the death of one of it's nationals.
