In response to an upsurge in burglaries in the area Na Jomtien police have stepped up their patrols keeping a watchful eye on any illegal activity and stopping motorcycles on a regular basis to check the identities of the riders and the contents of the bikes.
Several home owners have returned to their apartments to find their rooms have been broken into. The police think that the thief or thieves are staking out the area and studying the habits of local residents targeting properties when they know that they will be empty when the occupants are at work.
