Motorcycle Taxi Drivers Shoot Out in Pattaya

Pattaya Police Colonel Supachai led a group of officers and units of the Sawang Boriboon Rescue Foundation to a shooting incident outside a barbecue restaurant on Pattaya Third Road.

Of course the shooters had fled and the first thing of importance was to attend to the wounded. a 28 year old Vietnamese lady who was selling flowers in the area Miss.Nguyen Thi Ngan had been shot in the lower back. She had two serious gun shot wounds and was transported immediately to Banglamung Hospital for emergency treatment. Another victim had gone to Pattaya Memorial hospital by himself for treatment to a gun shot wound to his left leg. Staff at the hospital had notified the police as they are required to do when presented with any shooting injuries that present at the emergency department.

The 17 year old named Joe said that he didn't realise he had been shot until he stopped a little later to get fuel for his bike.

Now the police could get down to finding out what happened to cause the bullets to fly. A dispute between two groups of motorcycle taxi drivers one located outside Wat Chai Mongkol in South Pattaya and one located near the scene of the shooting at the barbecue restaurant on Third Road.

Both groups had disappeared but as the night wore on they managed to get hold of some of hem and started taking statements.

The investigation is still ongoing to find out what caused the dispute, what caused the argument to turn violent and of more importance who fired the shots that put an innocent by-stander into hospital in a critical condition. and another with a minor yet painful gun shot wound.
