There appears to be no substance to the rumour that The Winner Pub & Karaoke Bar off Soi Buakhao may soon be renamed The Loser Pub & Karaoke Bar.
This popular pub for after hours Thai patrons was slapped with a 30 day closure order on the 5th of Jly for licensing infractions. The authorities had an inkling that the entertainment venue was flaunting this order and Banglamung District Licensing Officials on orders from The Governor of Chonburi decided to pay another enforcement visit.
Officials who had foregone their beauty sleep arrived around 4 am to find about 100 patrons sitting, listening to music, dancing and imbibing alcoholic beverages. The DJ was turned off and the lights turned on and the patrons and staff and the scrutinations began. 3 staff were found to be under 20. 19 revellers had left their ID cards at home. Officials seized 10 Shisha paraphernalia and 1kg of Shisha Backy
The cashier Miss Sukhuma aged 21 was duly nicked but the manager had mysteriously disappeared just prior to the raid. A new closure order for 60 days is in the offing and officials warned that if this is not observed then the Winner Pub will be definitely named the Loser Pub abd shut permanently.
