In the early hours of the morning Pattaya Police officers were called to investigate a burglary at an Insurance company on Sukhumvit Road. At the four story commercial office building which houses the premises of the Nuakit Insurance Company they were met by Khun Pawat aged 31 who is employed as an accountant for the company.
He had returned to the building to collect his company car a Toyota Vios which was parked out front. There were lights on in side the building which was suspicious as all the staff had gone home hours before. He went inside to find the office had been ransacked. The police took a look around and found that glass doors had been prised open, security cameras turned to face the wall and a number of items missing. The thieves had removed 7 computers and 5 computer monitors. They had then loaded their haul into the company Toyota and disappeared into the night.
Khun Pawat was of course concerned about the loss of the property but he was even more concerned about the data that the computers contained. All the company records.
Police think that this may well be an inside job carried out by disgruntled present or past employees and they will return to question everyone in the office. As for the loss of the computers, company car and Insurance company data lets hope that they are up to date on their insurance payments.
