Nongprue police and their Royal Thai navy minders continue unabated in their shark fishing operations around the Pattaya area. Their target this week a luxury house in Moo 5 of Suan Rungrote in Naklua North Pattaya. The alleged loan shark was Khun Prasert aged 33, who was accused of running an illegal money lending business.
Khun Prasert, his wife Khun Jaruwan aged 31 and four other men in the house thought to be his debt collectors were arrested and taken away for further questioning. In the raid police seized 5 computers, paperwork relating to customer accounts and a number of vehicles and motorcycles.
Khun Prasert's loan operations in Pattaya are thought to be part of a larger loan sharking operation. Raids were carried out simultaneously in Chanthaburi Province south of Pattaya. However the authorities believe that the have the head honcho in custody.
