Koh Larn Island a 20 minute speedboat ride from Pattaya Beach is a popular destination for foreign tourists who can enjoy cleaner waters to partake in water sports and clean if expensive deck chairs to park their bums in and relax in the afternoon sun. Koh Larn is also becoming a popular destination for drug addicts and drug dealers who can park their bums on deck chairs and enjoy getting spaced out of their little minds.
Pattaya Police have been paying attention to this drug den in the sun. The Acting Superintendent of Pattaya Police Station, Police Colonel Supatee decided to give his weary officers a day out at the seaside and they boarded speedboats to take in the sun and take down a few criminals
The raid was fruitful with three people arrested for various charges including possession of class 1 narcotics and a Khun Goragot aged 22 who was packing more than a Tupperware box of sandwiches a Glock 9mm hand gun.
Khun Egasit aged 21 and Khun Saenee aged 39 were caught with quantities of Yaa Ice (Crystal Methamphetamine) They told please that they purchased the drugs in Pattaya to peddle to Thai and foreign tourists on the island.
So if you are enjoying a day trip to Koh Larn and relaxing with a cold beer and some dodgy looking geezer wanders up with "You want Ice with your beer" - be careful - be very careful.
