Nigerian Murder Suspect Arrested in Pattaya

Police officers from Region 2 Police Command held a press conference to announce the arrest of a Nigerian murder suspect who had been on the run since May.

Two months ago a Nigerian man was brutally murdered by his fellow Nigerian friend at a house in Soi Khao Talo in East Pattaya. The victim Mr.Jude Chukwu aged 32 had got in to an argument over money that he had borrowed from his friend Mr. Nmamaka Onwuhafua aged 32. The argument turned into a fight and resulted in Mr. Onwuhafua attacking his friend with a sword and bludgeoning him with a rock.

Mr. Onwuhafua subsequently fled and hid out in Bangkok. Police had received information that he had returned to Pattaya to live with his Thai wife. Police officers moved in and arrested him in a room in Four Man House, South Pattaya.

Mr. Onwuhafua who played football for Chaiyapoom Fc prior to the murder confessed to the killing and now faces a trial before a Thai Judge.
