Russian tourists in Jomtien kicked up a stink this week about a smelly problem on Jomtien Beach. After receiving phone calls from the indignant Ivans the authorities came along to investigate.
A large dead turtle had washed up on the beach and it's decomposing presence was causing discomfort to the tourists as the putrid smells wafted further and further along the beach. Municipal authorities examined and recovered the body the turtle and Pattaya Fisheries Department officials took it away to conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
Khun Janthiporn aged 51 a nearby deck chair operator said that it was not unusual for dead turtles to end up on the beach but this was an unusually large one and provided an unusually big stink.
