Pattaya Police Officers manning a traffic checkpoint in Jomtien called for the driver of a Yamaha Fino to stop but he ignored the request and rode off at high speed. Officers set off in persuit. The driver abandoned the motorcycle outside the Beach Condo on Jomtien Second Road and hoofed it into the woods.
The police radioed for assistance and the area was flooded with police officers and police volunteers. They eventualy spotted the individual hiding near a water tank in Casa Jomtien Village.
The police searched Khun Pai aged 17 and found evidence to suggest that he was running drugs and that is why he did a runner when he spotted the police. Khun Pai denied any involvement in drugs. However the police dis not believe his story and placed him under arrest pending further investigations.
