Spanish ATM Skimmer Slammed Up in Pattaya Cells

Senior officers from Police Region 2 held a press conference to announce the arrest of a foreign national who is thought to have netted millions of Baht with a card skimming scam.

The foreigner a Spaniard Mr. Fernando Manuel Navaro, was arrested by Chonburi Provincial Police Special Investigators and found to be in possession of a wide range of equipment used to relieve Thais and other foreigners of their hard earned cash stored in their bank accounts.

Investigators seized a card skimmer, laptop computer, 109 ATM cards and over 1,000 blank cards. It is thought that he had been operating for weeks placing his scanner on various ATM machines at commercial banks in the Pattaya area and had netted millions of Baht. Some of the proceeds were then transferred to his Romanian bosses back in Romania.

The money making Manuel can now look forward to an extended holiday in Thailand courtesy of the Thai Courts and the Thai Department of Corrections.
