Nongprue East Pattaya Dust Pollution Complaints

A delegation of residents from Baan Mabatatai Village in East Pattaya made their way to Nongprue District Offices to lodge a formal complaint about pollution they and their fellow residents were suffering due to a major construction project laying new sewers and drainage systems near their homes.

Members of the media had already taken a look at the area and their reports supported the residents complaints that they were all suffering tremendously from dust and dirt kicked up by heavy machinery including 10 wheeler trucks and back hoes that was causing a severe nuisance.

Contractors were not dealing with the problem and attempts at dust suppression were totally inadequate. Householders could not open doors and windows for normal ventilation which was making it unbearable to live in these homes especially during the period of hot weather that the area had been experiencing lately.
Homeowners needed to clean the dust on a daily basis. Respiratory problems were affecting especially old people and children in their Communities.

Khun Charoen The senior officer of Nongprue Municipality in charge of overseeing construction projects in the district listened to their complaints and promised to contact the contractors and try to resolve their serious concerns.
