Children Rescued From Home Imprisonment in Bang Bung, Chonburi

Khun Janjira who is a social worker for The Department of Social Development and Human Security, Chonburi, along with Chonburi police officers went to a house in Moo 1 NongPhaiKaew District of Amphur Bang Bung. She had received a report from concerned neighbours that 2 teenage children were being held in a room in the house for a long time.

In a bedroom in the house they found a Khun Wiroj aged 40 along with 2 of his daughters, aged 19 and 5 years old. The room was in a terrible state and so were the girls. They had been locked in the room by their father for 2 years and it appears that they hadn't washed for that two years.

Khun Chemchoi the 74 year old mother of Khun Wiroj said that her son worked together with another daughter selling flower garlands. She admitted that her son had mental health problems.

Khun Wiroj was taken for a mental health facility for assessment and the two girls given a physical examination before being taken to a Pattaya Orphanage where it is hoped they will be given remedial care to help them recover from the trauma of the previous years incarceration.

Two years before neighbours sound the alarm and call in the authorities - the mind boggles.
