Unknown Man Hanging Suicide in Jomtien

A local resident in Jomtien got the shock of his life when he went into a grove of trees to take a leak as he did what he went there to do he looked up and saw a body hanging from the upper branches of the tree.

Local police and a rescue unit from the Sawang Boriboon Rescue Foundation attended the scene at a clump of eucalyptus trees on Soi Wat Boon close to the temple grounds.

Rescue workers had to climb six meters up the tree to release the dangling corpse of what appeared to be a male of Asian origin and had been deceased for approximately 5-6 hours. He had no identification or personal belongings on him and police are canvasing in the neighbourhood to see if anyone may have a friend or relative missing.

There seemed to be nothing at the scene that would indicate foul play and have ruled this a suicide by hanging pending a full forensic post mortem being carried out at Banglamung Hospital where the body was taken to.
