Crocodile On The Loose In Sattahip

A reptilian rescue race was put into motion in Sattahip when a resident reported that he had barricaded himself in his home after being chased by an enormous crocodile.

Police and a rescue unit from the Sawang Rojana Rescue foundation raced to the scene in Plutaluang to reconnoitre the area before attempting to snare the snapping crocodile.

They didn't have to look far as the croc had taken up residence in front of the iron gates to the home of Khun Surapong aged 41 a Thai Airways employee.

Khun Surapong said that he had gone out early to get his cart out of the garage to go to work when he was confronted by the croc. He wasn't sure who was more surprised the croc or himself but when it lunged towards him snapping it's teathy jaws he thought it wise to go back in the house and call authorities.

The croc looked mean but the rescue workers meant business and after an eye to eye standoff lasting around 30 minutes they moved in and snared the beast. The rescue workers took turns to take a photo op holding the enormous crocodile which turned out to be about 2 meters long and weighing about 70 Kg the size of a large water lizard.

Recent rains probably gave the croc an early release date and Momy croc will surely be on the look out for one of her lost baby crocs.
