Illegal Pattaya Beauty Clinic and Lady Boy Owner Arrested in Nongprue

Nongprue Police Colonel Sutthisak led a raid on a beauty salon in East Pattaya over the weekend after complaints had been received from the general public that they were offering unlicensed products and carrying out illegal medical procedures.

The business raided was the Yukomtha Beauty and Spa located in a three story shop house in Soi Pornpapanimitr in East Pattaya. Police and public health officials searched the shop and found a large quantity of beauty products some of which had been imported and were unlicensed to be sold in Thailand. Of more concern was that the beauty shop offered procedures such as injections for skin treatments like skin whitening and the owner and staff were not licenced to carry out these procedures.

The procedures were aimed at young Thai women who would pay 500 Baht per session for chemicals to be injected under their skin to induce a lighter complexion.

The police coordinated with Banglamung Hospital Pharmacists to identify the concoctions that were being used and noted that not only were the products illegal but the whole operation was not being conducted under sterile conditions and there was the definite risk that customers could suffer infections and their was a significant risk to their health.

The business was promptly closed down. Three transsexuals, men dressed as women, were arrested in the raid including the owner Khun Thananya aged 35 and a large amount of drugs were confiscated and will be later destroyed.
