Pattaya Burglary Team Caught

Nongprue Police Colonel Tanayort and other senior officers held a press conference to announce the arrest of a husband and wife pair of thieves wanted for a string of robberies at luxury homes in the Pattaya area.

Khun Paew aged 26 and her Husband Khun Getgeaw aged 23 were arrested in their home in Sakeow Province after a warrant for their apprehension had been issued recently by Pattaya Provincial Court.

The clever con artists had been working their scam for some time targeting mainly Thai foreigner couples who they assumed would have more valuable items in their homes than Thai families.

They would find their targets online using Facebook and secure a maids job for the wife. After a few days scoping out the new employers premises the wife Khun Paew then briefed her husband on the whereabouts of valuables and vulnerable times when the properties would be empty and of course copies of keys and security codes were on hand as well.

The husband Khun Getgeaw would then make his move and relieve the families of their valuables.

At Nongprue police Station the pair were confronted by some of their victims. They begged for forgiveness and apologised for their actions. They have admitted to 5 burglaries so far and with the theft of over a million Baht in cash and goods.

As well as arresting the canny couple in Sakeow the police seized a large number of items such as gold and diamond jewelry, gold coins and cash in Euros and in $US.
